My name is Robert, and Iwas injured in the No-Name storm of March 13th, 1993, while I was rescuing people from the flood waters. I contracted “Reiters Syndrome” from a bacteria in the water that got into my system through a nasty cut I received during the rescue process. Reiters Syndrome is a rare degenerative joint disease that is basically chronic arthritis and is very painful. I have had 4 morphine pumps, spinal meningitis, 7 surgeries on my right leg from a compund fracture that ended in contracting osteomylitis, a badly fractured foot and ankle, and have completely torn the ligaments from my anle, twice, all on my right leg. I am and am currently on high doses of pain medication and I am trying to get off disability and become a contributing citizen of society. I just had a close friend recently die from an overdose of pain medication at 52 years old, with being set for the rest of his life as far as money was concerned. I have just graduated with an Associates Degree in Medical Billing and Coding, and also have just passed the Florida Certification test. I am very concerned about the current epidemic of people abusing and dying from overdoses. I have had a total of three aquaintances die from overdoses. I would like to start a business as a Pain Clinic Risk Manager, and would like to know what further training I would have to complete before I could become a legitimite Pain Patient Risk Manager. I would really like to be a part of the solution and try to help those people who have become addicted, and sort out the ones who are doctor shopping and also selling their pain medication to be sold on the street. Please let me know what I would have to do to become a risk manager, and be a part of the solution. Before the storm, I wanted to become a RN, but because of the Reiters Syndsrome that is not possible. Please feel free to contact me at rob_fields@live.com, or my cell phone # is (813) 948-206. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
